The Window

Hey you! My another column illustration.

A window is a transparent or a translucent opening in a wall that allows the passage of light and air and sound.

The word window originates from the Old Norse "vindauga", from "vindr - wind" and "auga - eye" i.e. "wind eye". In old English it literally means "eye-hole".

Through our windows we can see we can smell we can hear. We have a life because we have a window.

I watch my trees and my staghorn ferns grow from my window, really watching. I cannot look away from them. This is how I "liberate" myself. How to calm down when I worry. How I heal myself when I see too many ugly things. And then I start to really care about them. And I begin to find everything very beautiful again.

Do you have a window?
